Bad Widow
My debut memoir will be published by Viking Canada in 2028.
Four months after my 30th birthday, I lost my beloved husband, Sean, to brain cancer. Bad Widow is an emotional—and also humorous—tale of how I survived widowhood. There are tears, but there’s also transformation and bittersweet memories captured in nostalgic recipes.
Bad Widow chronicles my first steps as a young widow. Spoiler: It’s messy. With no handbook on navigating loss, I was forced to wing it through the grieving process armed only with my dark sense of humour.
Told with searing honesty, Bad Widow follows my quest to forgive Sean for dying on me way too soon, to find my place in the world and, ultimately, to seek renewed purpose for my existence after the death of my ‘one great love’.
